Kelly Sports New Plymouth Manager
Kelvin was born in New Plymouth and has three children. He is enjoying living back in his hometown and excited to be working with Kelly Sports using the skills he’s developed over the years to encourage kids to give sport a go and to live a healthy lifestyle.
Kelvin was a Physical Fitness Instructor in the Royal NZ Airforce for seven years. Kelvin has been involved with rugby for many years, firstly as a Rugby Development Officer for the Marlborough Rugby Union where he coached various representative teams. He was also the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Southland Stags rugby team from 2005 to 2008 and most recently was the Academy Strength and Conditioning coach for the Hawke’s Bay Rugby Union. Kelvin is currently the New Zealand Under 20 Rugby Team’s Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Kelvin has a passion for playing sport. He enjoys a variety of sports including running, cycling, tennis, and surfing. He has played rugby for Marlborough, a South Island Divisional XV and was a player/coach in Ireland. He has also represented Taranaki at cricket in the U16 and U17 teams and was in the RNZAF services cricket team.
